Privacy Policy

• Account details: full name, username, email address and password (stored only as a secure hash).
• Content you create: journeys and stops, travel posts, photos, recommendation lists, likes and follows.
• Guide requests: the message and the contact details (phone number or email) you choose to include when requesting a local guide.

We collect basic technical data needed to run the service, such as your device and browser type, app version, and log data about requests and errors. Locations used in journeys, posts and recommendations come from what you enter or select — we do not track your device location in the background.

• To create and secure your account and keep you signed in.
• To save and display your journeys, posts and recommendations.
• To deliver notifications about likes, new followers and guide requests.
• To send transactional emails such as email verification and password resets.
• To detect abuse, debug problems and improve the app.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

Your profile, journeys, posts and recommendations that you publish are visible to other Maapzy users and may be visible to anyone with a share link. Your email address and password are never shown to other users. Contact details you include in a guide request are shared with the traveler you sent the request to.

We use trusted providers to host the app, store your database records and uploaded photos, and deliver email. They process data only on our instructions and under contractual confidentiality obligations. Map tiles and place search are provided by third-party mapping services, which receive the search terms needed to return results.

We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete content, it is removed from the app; backups may retain copies for a limited period before being overwritten. You can ask us to delete your account and associated content at any time.

• Access, correct or delete your account information from your profile settings.
• Delete individual journeys, posts, recommendations or likes at any time.
• Request a copy or deletion of your data by emailing support@maapzy.com.
• Turn off device push/browser notifications in your system settings.

Maapzy is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.

Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and access to stored data is restricted by authentication and per-user access rules. No online service can guarantee absolute security, so please use a strong, unique password.

We may update this policy as the app evolves. The date at the top shows when it last changed. Significant changes will be communicated in the app or by email.
